Case Studies
NATIONAL SCIENCE FOUNDATION, OFFICE OF POLAR PROGRAMS
A full discovery and design engagement for the National Science Foundation’s U.S. Antarctic Program public website — a platform serving researchers, students, journalists, and the general public. The work spanned generative research, information architecture, content strategy, and a visual design system built on USWDS. A highlight was a stakeholder prioritization workshop I designed and facilitated that translated research findings into an 18-month product roadmap the client team helped build — and therefore actually trusted.
Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration
A clinician-facing tool for the VA’s Lung Cancer Screening Program, supporting the coordinators who manage high-risk Veterans through a multi-year screening process. The work involved generative research, iterative usability testing, and a significant design pivot — our initial hypothesis about what coordinators needed turned out to be wrong, and the research showed us why. The final product reduced coordinator workload substantially and achieved full adoption across all eligible VA Medical Centers following the VA’s EHR transition.
