White House
Connecting People WIth Purpose.
Whitehouse.gov
The goal of the responsive redesign of wh.gov was to create a holistically focused presentation – providing a clearer picture of what’s happening in and around the White House on any given day – and optimizing the most highly trafficked pages to engage with the American people where they are.
The State of the Union
The focus of the 2015 Enhanced State of the Union address was to increase engagement with viewers that were tuned into the speech at wh.gov/sotu, with a real-time stream of content – called the “river of content” – as a supplement to the President’s address. This provided more personalized components, opportunities to receive feedback from viewers, and greatly expanded our reach on social media channels.
In 2015, the live stream view increased by 50% YOY and time on page increased by 45%. The presidents speech was 61 minutes long and in that time this page received 18,000 poll responses, 40,000 email sign-ups, and 17,000 "river of content" shares. #success
Nuclear Security Summit Identity
The Nuclear Security Summit process has been the centerpiece of the efforts by world leaders to ensure their people and neighboring countries are safe by securing nuclear materials and preventing nuclear terrorism. For the final summit in 2016, the White House needed a logo that showed strength, seriousness, and optimism in addition to being a lasting representation of the great efforts that all partnering countries have made. And then it ended up on Last Week Tonight with John Oliver so clearly it made an impression!
